1. Grading prosciutto within the ISAP manifestation - International fair of prosciutto

2. The signing of the cooperation agreement between the University of Rijeka, Department of Biotechnology,
    Association of producers of Istrian prosciutto (president Milan Buršić) and Association of sensory analyst
    for prosciutto and other cured meat products (president Blanka Sinčić Pulić)

The signing was attented by Mr. Milan Buršić, mag.ing.arg. Milan Antolović (head of the department of agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishing of Istiran county), rector of the University of Rijeka prof.dr.sc. Pero Lučin, leader of the projeckt of HRZZ prof.dr.sc. Jasna Peter-Katalinić, and associates responsible for the carrying out of the analysis of prosciutto from the Department of Biotechnology doc.dr.sc. Sandra Kraljević Pavelić and doc.dr.sc. Mladenka Malenica-Staver.


 

3. Department of Biotechnology, Centre for micro and nano sciences and technology and the Department of Physics, University of Rijeka, have organized an expert meeting with        specialists from Trieste (Sincrotrone Trieste ScPA).

The purpose of the meeting was the development of analitical and imaging technologies with their application in biotechnology and biomedicine. The meeting was held on 30th of January 2013 at the Department of Biotechnology (University campus, R. Matejčić 2, Rijeka). After the foreword about the international cooperation by the vice rector Prof. dr. sc. Damir Zec and in the name of the organiser of the gathering Doc. dr. sc. Sandra Kraljević Pavelić, methods and analitical platforms in synchrotron were presented by Dr. sc. Luca Gregoratti (XPS spectroscopy and spectromicroscopy), Dr. sc. Lisa Vaccari (infrared spectromiscroscopy in life science), Dr. sc. Loredana Casalis (AFM - biotechnology), Dr. sc. Alessandra Gianoncelli (transmission visualization by x-rays) and Dr. sc. Giuliana Tromba (x-ray radiation). The project HZZ " 
High throughput analytical platforms for Adriatic-brand food quality and authenticity" was introduced by Prof. dr. sc. Mladen Petravić and the leader of the project Prof. dr. sc. Jasna Peter Katalinić. The collaboration on the development of analitical high resolution approaches for food analysis from the Adriatic has been settled for the year 2013.
